How much is my gold ring worth?
The metal value of a ring depends on just two things: how much it weighs and its purity. An 18 carat wedding band usually weighs between 3 and 6 grams, and today 18k gold is priced at €91.92 per gram.

What isn't paid as gold
Diamonds and colored gemstones are valued separately and almost never increase a cash-for-gold shop's offer: their weight is deducted from the total. A 3.5-gram engagement ring with a solitaire may have only 3 grams of metal.
An 18k white gold ring is worth the same as an 18k yellow gold ring: the rhodium finish doesn't add value. What changes is the internal alloy, not the amount of fine gold.
If the ring is signed by a recognized brand or is an antique piece in good condition, check its resale value before selling it by weight.
